UWasa Virtual Desktop User Guide

Through the UWasa Virtual Desktop connection, you can remotely access software and desktops.

Students

-Download and install the Citrix Workspace App on your computer via this link: https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/
-You can install the Citrix Workspace program with the default settings.

Staff

-Install the Citrix Workspace App program from the Software Center, or if you are a Mac user, install the program from the Managed Software Center.

 

Login

-After installing the Citrix Workspace App, start the program and enter the address: https://remote.uwasa.fi
-Students, enter your username in the format x1234567@student.uwasa.fi
-Staff, enter your username in the format username@uwasa.fi

The remote access environment uses two-factor authentication.

After logging in, you will see the programs and desktops to which you have access rights.

The programs and desktops may appear in a single view or may be divided into Apps and Desktops tabs.

File Usage

The hard drive, USB sticks, and CD/DVD drives of your own device are visible in the file manager alongside the hard drives of the remote system.

The Citrix Workspace App may also ask for permission to access your computer's resources. The options are Read & Write, Read only, or No access.
