Using OneDrive after the Office installation
With Office 365 you are able to work on Microsoft Office documents (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) on your browser.
You also have access to OneDrive cloud storage where you can save your files (Office documents, PDFs, photos, et. al.) Please note that OneDrive files are not backed up by the university of Vaasa.
Software for your home computer
1. Log in to Office 365 with your University of Vaasa user account at https://portal.office.com/.
Students: username@student.uwasa.fi. Please note that Office 365 is not available for students of open university.
Personnel: username@uwasa.fi.
The services of Microsoft use multi-factor authentication, you can find instructions from here.
2.1 On the home page, select “Apps” from the left-side panel.
2.2 Select “More apps” from the opening menu.
2.3 Press the ”Install apps” button located at the top-right corner of the view.
2.4 Select ”Microsoft 365 apps” from the opening menu.
3.1 Select “My account” from the left-side panel.

Please Note!
Office 365 ProPlus can be installed on up to five devices. Office 365 software and service are available for as long as you study or work at the University of Vaasa.
During the installation, Office might ask you to allow your organization to manage the device, please do not select that option.

Using OneDrive after the Office installation
Once you have Office 365 installed on your home computer you can save files directly to OneDrive cloud storage and they become available to you anywhere (i.e. from your mobile device or any computer you can log in to Office 365 with). You can also save to and open files from Word, Excel and other Office programs. OneDrive is also now accessible from your file explorer.

Please Note!
Files stored in OneDrive are not backed up by the university. Please backup your files from OneDrive before you complete your studies or stop working at the university.
OneDrive cloud storage is physically located on Microsoft's servers outside of Finland. Please take this into consideration when storing confidential data.

If you are having trouble to logging in, please contact it@uwasa.fi.
If you have problems with multi-factor authentication please go to our identity service and select the option “reset MFA”. After the reset you reconfigure the Authenticator by following these instructions.
