The browser-based version
You can access the browser-based version of OneDrive via https://onedrive.live.com/login/.
Set up the OneDrive application
1. On Windows devices, you can find and launch OneDrive for example by using the desktop’s search function.

2. Insert your email by using your username, e.g. “a12345@student.uwasa.fi”.

3. Insert password on the organization’s login page.

4. You can uncheck the option “Allow my organisation to manage this device”. Proceed with the “OK” button.

5. Press “Done”.

6. You proceed by using default settings and pressing “Next”.

7. You can set OneDrive to synchronizing copies to the server from the selected locations. In these instruction the option ”I’ll do it later” was selected. Backing up files saved to OneDrive is each user's own responsibility.
NOTE! If you have a Copilot license and the below backup options are selected, Copilot will have access to the files in these folders.

8. Select “Next”.

9. Select “Next”.

10. Select “Next”.

11. Select “Later”.

12. Finalize the process by selecting the option “Open my OneDrive folder”.

13. After that, OneDrive opens the local OneDrive folder.
Manage backup folders on a Windows 11 computer
1.1 Right-click on the Taskbar’s OneDrive icon.
1.2 In the OneDrive window, select "Help & Settings" from the top-right corner.
1.3 Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

2.1 From the opening window, select first "Sync and backup" from the left-side panel.
2.2 Then, click the "Manage backup" button.

3. In the "Back up folders on this PC" view, you can toggle the backup option on or off for different locations. You can save the settings with the "Save changes" button.
