Changes to student printing

Student printing will change to use secure printing. Printing, copying and scanning will be possible in the Technobothnia and in the F351 lobby of Fabriikki. The new system will also allow students to print from their own computers. The balances of the old printing system will not be transferred to the new system, but all users will receive new balances (120€). Tritonia printing will remain unchanged and will be done through the Princh system.

The change will take place during week 47. For further information see https://it.uwasa.fi/guides/secure/en/student/Student+printing

Grammarly has been deactivated for licensing, security and data protection reasons. The use of Grammarly cannot be recommended even for personal use.

It is strictly forbidden to use Grammarly to process data related to work, work assignments or research data, including scientific articles and texts.

The recommended alternative to Grammarly is the MS Editor functionality or browser extension of Word Online and new versions of Word.

Other options include:

-Sanakirja.fi
-Office 365 / Word's own grammar checker

Microsoft Authenticator and number matching

Microsoft will set number matching as a mandatory authentication method when using Microsoft Authenticator. From 27 February onward, authenticatoin will require you to enter a verification number in the Microsoft Authenticator.

Number matching will further strengthen the protection provided by Multifactor Authentication by making scamming and phishing attempts more difficult.

This change does not apply to you if you use a phone call or a one-time login code as your primary authentication method for the University's Microsoft services.
